Zooming

This button allows you to zoom in to the map as if you were getting closer to the ground from a great height.

Click on this button, then

	Left-click with your mouse on a single point on the map. Your cursor should be a 'cross' shape.
	A new map will come back that looks closer than you were before and centered on the location you clicked at. Note that more map detail becomes available as you zoom in.
	The overview map will show the area you have zoomed in to.

	Left-click with your mouse at a point on the map but HOLD your finger on the button, 'drag' a rectangle on the map and then release the button.
	A new map will come back showing the area of the rectangle as the new map. The smaller the rectangle you draw, the more the map will zoom in.
	The overview map will show the area you have zoomed in to.

This is similar to zooming in.

	Click the Zoom Out button and either click a point on the map or 'drag' a rectangle on the map.
	The map will zoom out with the selected point or rectangle in the center. The smaller the rectangle, the more the map will zoom out.

When you click the Zoom Full Out choice under the Map Navigation menu, the map will zoom to the full extent of all layers.

	This choice under the Map Navigation menu allows you to see the full extent of the active layer.
