Zoom In Button

Zoom In

This button allows you to zoom in to the map as if you were getting closer to the ground from a great height.

Click on this button, then

EITHER:

One Click Zoom In

  • Left-click with your mouse on a single point on the map. Your cursor should be a 'cross' shape.

  • Zoomed In Map

  • A new map will come back that looks closer than you were before and centered on the location you clicked at.

  • Note that more map detail becomes available as you zoom in.

  • Overview Map

  • The overview map will show the area you have zoomed in to.

  • OR:

    Drag a Rectangle Zoom In

  • Left-click with your mouse at a point on the map but HOLD your finger on the button, 'drag' a rectangle on the map and then release the button.

  • Zoomed In Map

    A new map will come back showing the area of the rectangle as the new map.  The smaller the rectangle you draw, the more the map will zoom in.

    Overview Map

  • The overview map will show the area you have zoomed in to.


  • Zoom Out Button

    This is similar to zooming in.

  • Click the Zoom Out button and either click a point on the map or 'drag' a rectangle on the map.

  • Zoomed Out Map

  • The map will zoom out with the selected point or rectangle in the center.

  • The smaller the rectangle, the more the map will zoom out.


  • Zoom Full Out

    Zoom to Full Extent Map

  • When you click the Zoom Full Out choice under the Map Navigation menu, the map will zoom to the full extent of all layers.


  • Zoom to Active Layer Button

  • This choice under the Map Navigation menu allows you to see the full extent of the active layer.
