Buffering |

- Make sure the layer you want to buffer is active.
- Use the Select tool to choose the features(s) you want to buffer.
- Click the Buffer button.
- A form will appear at the bottom of the current window.
- Select the layer that you want to gather information about from the pull-down list. If you simply want to draw a buffer select No Layer.
- Enter the distance of the buffer you want to draw. If you want to change the distance units (for example, from MILES to FEET), use the Set Units tool.
If you want to see a list of the features that fall within the buffer, click in the Display Attributes box.
- Click Create Buffer.
- The buffer will be displayed on the map, and all features that fall within the buffer will be highlighted.
- If you selected the Display Attributes box, a report will appear in the Buffer Window after the buffer is
drawn. The report will list each feature that the buffer touches and all
of the information known about those features.
